Witches Magic Broom

I paid a visit to the newly designed Michael's in Hurst Sunday. WOW!! What a difference .... the entire center section was for scrapbooking & paper crafts. Paper, tools, embellishments, stamps, ribbon .... everything was there. I picked up this fabulous Penny Black Magic Broom Flourish stamp and could hardly wait to get home and ink it up!! The black dp is from a Mat Stack I had from 2-3 years ago. The stripe I put thru my Cuttlebug with the circle designs. The sentiment stamp is from the $1 bin at Michaels last year (what a find). I really like the way this card turned out. Thank you for stopping by my blog.

Sketch Challenge TECC35

What a fun challenge for today!! I got the Paper Studio "Eye Candy White Floral" dp on sale ($5 sheets for $1 at my local Hobby Lobby Saturday and just knew I had to use it for this card. My SU Pocketfull of Posies set was perfect. I used my Cuttlebug for the smaller scallop squares and my scallop scissors for the larger square which was adhered to the card with dimensionals. The straight squares were punched with my CM punch. The sentiment is one from Stamping Bella and fit just perfectly on the bottom. The ribbon is the new poly-twill from SU.

Thank you for viewing my card .. it was a fun project to make.

What fun to create this card with your sketch challenge!! In used a paint sample from the hardware store to create the rectangles, added the scallop edge and a marker for the dots on it. The scallop is SU's scallop circle punch. the center is SU's 1-3/8" circle. The bird image is from Hero Arts Decorative Bird set and the sentiment is from AMuse. The dp is an old set from SU. I like all these colors together on this card. Thank you for viewing my card.

I must tell you that Sara and her DH, Kevin, (who is a computer whiz) gave me a computer for my birthday recently to help get me started on my blog. The only computer I had was the one at my office and they felt since I was going to get into this blogging (fun, fun, fun) that I'd best not be using the work computer for all this personal stuff. My boss of 26 years is a kind and caring individual, but I think he may draw the line with all the time taken away from the office with my blogging efforts ...... hence the new computer at home!! Included with the package from them was a printer/scanner which I will use for my cards. I will have to master a camera later down the road. This old lady has to use baby steps in stepping into the 21st century!! You know what they say about old dogs!!

Hello!

This post will be my initiation into the world of blogging!!! You may or may not have seen my cards on Splitcoast (SCS name Linda L Bien), but my daughters (susiestampalot and Sara Williams (TweaksandDesigns.com) have convinced me what fun it is. My other daughter, Nancy, will be joining the blogging ranks soon, so I thought .... "the family who blogs together, stays together"!! Besides that my granddaughters are also getting into it. Grandma needs to be in the 21st century!!! This Halloween / Fall / Thanksgiving / Christmas season is my favorite time of the year, so it makes it even more inviting to start NOW!! I'm posting some cards that were some of my most recent ones.

This little card is one of my favorite images using Hero Arts Decorative Birds set of four little birds. The paper is SU's Chocolate Chip. Close to Cocoa, and Bashful Blue. The white is from Georgia Pacific (WallMart) that seems to work well with all that I have used it for on my cards. The image is stamped with Stazon Black and coloring with SU markers. I used Stickles crystal blue for the dots across the middle. These cute little flowers is a container of table confetti from Michaels wedding department and I colored them also with markers and then made the centers from fabric applique.

Thank you for visiting my blog and I hope to get better and better as I go along. Sara (Tweaks and Designs) has me in her que to design a MUCH MORE attractive and versatile blog page.

About Me

Hello my name is Linda. Welcome to my blog!

I am the proud mother of three wonderful daughters (Susan, and the twins, Nancy and Sara) and "Grandma" to seven GRANDkids (5 girls and 2 boys). I have been stamping about 5 years now and have enjoyed putting together workshops for my family and friends. I get most of my inspiration from looking at SCS, various favorite blogs, and from my talented daughters who are card makers and blog designers. I often think up designs for my cards while nodding off to sleep at night and start dreaming about the sets to use and how to use them. It then becomes a "have-to-get-up-and-make-it" trip to the craft room. I know my neighbors think, "Who is that crazy woman who turns on the light in the middle of the night?"! I hope you enjoy my blog and that it will, in turn, give you the creative bug, too!!
